Costuming and clothing question?

So I got 2 scream masks. I got the scream 4 deluxe collectors mask. The fabric is um crap. I found this scream accurate fabric. I asked my mom if she could so it on,but she said the mask would deform. Is that true? Some of you may say not to do I because it is worth money. That's why I got 2. thanks.
